Dr. Jeff Barone is a Board Certified Chiropractic Physician in the state of Arizona. He is also board certified in Physiotherapy (Physical Medicine) with additional experience in managing athletic injuries.
Dr. Barone takes a unique approach to Chiropractic Medicine. He practices based on the realization that muscle and joint injuries do not occur in isolation. When someone has an injury to their spinal joints, it is almost exclusively accompanied by muscle injury and imbalance. The same mechanism holds true regarding muscle injuries. When an athlete strains a muscle (ex. Pulled Hamstring) there is almost always some degree of joint and muscle compensation/dysfunction in the surrounding structures (ex. Knee, Hip, Lower Back). For this reason, Dr. Barone incorporates a significant amount of physiotherapy and rehab into his management of musculoskeletal injuries. One treatment method which has been extremely successful is called Graston. This soft tissue therapy provides treatment to the injured muscles, fascia, tendons, and ligaments; while promoting significantly faster healing times and improved tissue strength.
Dr. Barone is originally from New Jersey, but moved to Arizona during adolescence, and considers this to be his "home." He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Arizona prior to attending Western States Chiropractic College where he earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree. Though he and his wife Sarah enjoyed their time in Portland, Oregon they were anxious to get back to Tucson.
In addition to Chiropractic adjustments, Dr. Barone has advanced training in Physiotherapy such as the Graston Technique, and integrates these soft tissue therapies into his practice to successfully treat a variety of injuries. It is equally important to address the muscular portion of most injuries, rather than focusing only on the spine.
Because every patient's needs are unique, Dr. Barone will develop an individual treatment plan for each and every patient. These plans incorporate adjustments, soft tissue therapy, active rehabilitation and exercise programs tailored to fit your needs.
